I offer short-term (6-12 sessions) and long-term psychotherapy (12+ sessions) to individuals, families, and couples. In our initial meeting, I will ask you questions to help me get a sense of who you are, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to accomplish. Based on the information I gather, I will share with you how I could be helpful to you and what the course of your therapy would look like short-term and long-term. You can then decide whether and how you would like to participate. If you would like to continue to work with me, we will schedule the next session.
Based on your presenting issues and goals, I incorporate a variety of approaches and interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I do not have a “cookie-cutter” approach. The more I get to know your concerns and your preference, the better I can assist you.
Some of the issues I have helped my clients address include:
anxiety | attention problems | addictions |
anger issues | body image | cross-cultural differences |
depression | eating problems | gender identity |
grief and loss | interracial parenting | couples issues |
men’s issues | relationship issues | sexual orientation |
self-esteem | self-harm | sleep problems |
stress management | trauma | abuse |
For various reasons, you may decide that you would like to work with someone else after our first meeting. Should that be the case, I would be happy to assist with a referral.
